I found this just in time, I am about to go over the road with my husband and all we are going to have is an instant pot and a road pro lunch box over to do all of our cooking with. We like to have cinnamon rolls about once a month or so for something a bit different and this is perfect.

If you have a small round cake pan, that should work as well. Enjoy!

      Hi Gaylen!
You can change the serving size by clicking on the blue number in the recipe card on each post. It will change the ingredients to meet your needs. However, keep in mind, it cannot change pot size or cooking times and both of those are impacted when you use less ingredients. Unfortunately, it will likely take a lot of trial and error to get things just right, but my best advice would be to start with using small pots (3 qt Instant Pot, 2 qt Crock Pot, etc.) if you want to regularly cook with less ingredients. Hope that helps!

We love hearing from you, it totally makes our day! Please remember, our comment section is much like our dinner table... You don't have to like everything we serve up, but you do have to use your manners.

FAQs

Does the Instant Pot work well as a slow cooker? ›

Update the cooking time: Instant Pots are designed to cook much faster than slow cookers, so you'll need to adjust the cooking time accordingly. As a rule of thumb, you can cook most slow cooker recipes in an Instant Pot on high pressure for one quarter of the slow cooker time.

What is the equivalent of 4 hours in the slow cooker in the Instant Pot? ›

Generally, if your slow cooker meat, soup, or stew recipe calls for 8 hours on the low setting or about 4 hours on the high setting, it should be fully cooked in about 25 to 30 minutes in the Instant Pot. For chicken or turkey, use the 15-minute poultry button. While volume doesn't matter, density does.

Is a pressure cooker the same as a crock pot? ›

Slow cookers and pressure cookers are large countertop appliances that can be used in place of pots, pans, and even ovens. The distinction between them is in their names; slow cookers cook food slowly, while pressure cookers cook food fast using pressure.

What does pouring milk over cinnamon rolls do? ›

Pouring heavy cream over cinnamon rolls before baking will add richness and moisture to the roll. As the cinnamon rolls bake, the cream will combine with the cinnamon and sugar to create a caramel-like sauce that will coat the rolls, adding a creamy texture with the fluffy roll.

What's the difference between a crockpot and a slow cooker? ›

However, Crockpots generally have ceramic or porcelain pots, while most slow cookers have a metal pot. As with a lot of cooking appliances, the biggest difference comes from the distribution of heat.

Is pulled pork better in Instant Pot or slow cooker? ›

The Instant Pot cuts down the cooking time significantly. This allows you to enjoy tender pulled pork in a fraction of the time it would take in a traditional slow cooker or oven. The sealed environment of the Instant Pot ensures that the flavors penetrate deep into the meat.

What is less normal or more on Instant Pot slow cooker? ›

First select 'slow cook' mode. Set your cooking time. Within 10 seconds of setting your cooking time, press the 'adjust' key to toggle between 'less' (keep warm mode on a CrockPot), 'regular' (low on a CrockPot), and 'more' (high on a CrockPot.)

Is 4 hours enough to slow cook? ›

In general, it's best to stick to the indicated cook time on the recipe you're following. Most slow cooker meals take 8-12 hours on low or 4-6 hours on high, but there are also recipes for slow-cooked meat that take up to 24 hours.

Which is healthier, a slow cooker or a pressure cooker? ›

Is cooking in a pressure cooker healthy? Yes, cooking in a pressure cooker is healthy. Unlike a slow cooker, which cooks foods for a long time at a lower temperature, pressure cookers do use high heat when cooking - but not for a long time. This means that most of the nutrients won't be lost.

Is brisket better in slow cooker or pressure cooker? ›

Cooking brisket is pretty simple. All that it really needs is a long and slow cooking time. That's why I love to make it in my slow cooker. However, if you are short on time, you can also use your Instant Pot to make it, with pretty similar results.

Which is better, a pressure cooker or an Instant Pot? ›

If you're a tech-savvy home chef looking for versatility and convenience, the Instant Pot might be your ideal match. However, if you value time-tested reliability, durability, and a focus on the art of pressure cooking, a classic pressure cooker could be your perfect culinary companion.

Why did the butter melt out of my cinnamon rolls? ›

Don't leave them on a warm, preheating stove for their second rise. The butter will melt and leak out of the filling.

Is heavy cream and heavy whipping cream the same thing? ›

Yes, heavy cream and heavy whipping cream are the exact same thing. The confusion lies in the fact that they're sold by different brands under two different names. According to the US Food and Drug Administration's labelling standards, heavy cream must contain at least 36 percent milk fat.

Do you close the vent on an Instant Pot when slow cooking? ›

Another tip, taken from an Instant Pot Facebook group, is to open the valve all the way on your Instant Pot lid when slow cooking. This allows some moisture and steam to release and keeps the Instant Pot from overcooking your slow cooker recipes.

Do you seal an Instant Pot when slow cooking? ›

When slow cooking in the Instant Pot, you can cover the pot using a tempered glass lid or the regular Instant Pot lid. If you are using the Instant Pot lid, you need to move the steam release valve to the "venting" position.

How long does an Instant Pot take to preheat for slow cooking? ›

It shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes to heat up.

To override this, you can take the lid off your pressure cooker, press saute, and saute for 2-4 minutes. Hit cancel, and then reset the cooking time using the slow cook function.
